Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, the Hitz FM Programmes Director stated that it is just not enough for Zylofon Media to sign big names in the music industry, but also hiring competent resource persons to run the day to day affairs of the company.
The CEO of Slip Music, in his conversation lamented that, he barely understands why there is so much fuss about Zylofon Media.
“One question we must ask is. Have we grown them? If we haven’t, I think we should be having answers to some of these things instead of every time causing sensation by splashing cash here and there,” he said.
Okraku-Mantey who was clearly not happy about the managerial competence of Zylofon Media indicated that, talented artistes who are supposed to stay on top are rather struggling after joining Zylofon.
“Take someone like Becca, she deserves to be on top, but look at her now. She’s rather fighting to stay relevant in the music industry. Can you tell me any hit song from one Zylofon artiste since they started putting them on contract?” he queried.
The activities of Zylofon Media have generated huge media debate and controversies ever since the company launched onto the entertainment space.
Some workers of Zylofon Media, led by Bulldog on Saturday night clashed with dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy and his crew due to some internal issues.
According to media reports, Bulldog and his squad attacked Stonebwoy after the artiste demanded organizers of the ‘Hilla Limann Hall Week’ concert to pull down all Zylofon branded materials on stage.
The scuffle was said to have gotten out of hand after Bulldog and his men attempted seizing Stonebwoy’s vehicle given to him by Zylofon as part of his record signing deal.
However, the case has since been reported to the Nima Police in Accra pending further investigations.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah has called for calm between the two parties.
